Hi there! My name is Emily and I am from Long Island, NY. I grew up in a household that revolved around athletics and fitness. I played soccer, basketball, and lacrosse my entire life, and in the rare chance I wasn’t playing sports, I was drawing, painting, or doing anything creative. I continued my basketball career at the collegiate level at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY while earning my Bachelor of Industrial Design. To pursue a career in sports product design, I traded the East Coast for the West Coast, attending the University of Oregon’s Master in Science in Sports Product Design program. Having vast experience in sports and being a leader within the local running community, I continue to apply my athletic background to better comprehend the needs of athletes and the obstacles that arise within the sports product industry.
While having both commercial and innovation experiences in my design career, I am also a member of the Boston and NYC running communities. From helping lead pace groups at runs throughout the week to listening to runners of all levels, I use these firsthand interactions and experiences to help influence the next generation of products for athletes of all levels.
With being an athlete, comes many injuries and I have had my fair share. This is where my passion for sports product design grew. My ultimate goal is to design products that keep athletes doing what they love at the highest level while staying healthy and injury-free. I use my experiences as a multi-sport athlete and love for art to create innovative apparel or footwear designs that allow athletes to play at their highest level.
